Visiting the facility

Our observatory is a private, working scientific facility located in a protected dark-sky zone on La Palma. We operate year-round with hosted equipment and do not offer open visits or public tours.

Private facility — access by prior arrangement only.
The exact location and access coordinates are shared exclusively with contracted clients under NDA, to protect the security of hosted equipment. If you are an active client, your welcome documentation includes all access details.

Getting to La Palma

La Palma (IATA: SPC — Santa Cruz de La Palma airport) has direct connections from major Spanish and European hubs. From the airport, the drive to the Roque de los Muchachos area takes approximately 1 hour 45 minutes via the LP-4 road through the Caldera de Taburiente National Park.

Santa Cruz de La Palma (SPC). Iberia, Binter and Canaryfly operate regular routes from mainland Spain and other Canary Islands.

Rental car recommended. LP-4 from Santa Cruz to the ridge. 1h 45 min. Surfaced road all the way, no 4×4 required.

The area around Garafía and El Paso has a wide selection of rural accommodation. Many visitors stay 2–5 nights for multi-session observing runs.
